Three major M&A deals in the Nordics over the summer

Our industry continue to consolidate. It’s been a busy summer when it comes to mergers and acquistion. Three deals stand out in the Nordic market:

1. Finland
Finnish Punamusta continues its expansion in Finland with its acquistion of Hämeen Kirjapaino. Punamusta had a turn over of 90 million euro in 2018 and grows with a further 14 million euro after the purchase of Hämeen Kirjapaino. Read more in Branschkoll (In Swedish). In a separate note, the paper Ilta-Sanomat writes that Punamusta has started a restructuring process where as many as 50 people can be made redundant.

2. Sweden:
Swedish printer Strands Grafiska has been bought by Brover Group, which already owns Justnu and Printer. Brover Group adds offset capacity with the purchase of Strands Grafiska, and will reach a turn over of SEK 175 million after the purchase. Read more in Branschkoll (In Swedish).

3. Denmark:
Danish firm Nonbye buys Swedish Systemstext’s business area sign and display. Systemstext’s production will be closed down and production will be moved to Jylland, Denmark. Nonbye will have sales of close to SEK 90 million in Sweden after the recent purchase. Read more in Branschkoll (In Swedish).
