3 recent M&A deals in the Nordics

As the covid situation seems to come to an end, the M&A activity in the industry is clearly picking up. See below for the latest M&A deals in the different Nordic markets.

Norway:

Hamar Media acquires Spire Gruppen, consisting of Flisa Trykkeri and Spire Kommunikasjon. Both Hamar Media and Spire Gruppen are located approximately two hours north of Oslo.

“Two media companies will be one, this is a very positive deal. These kind of transactions doesnt always have to involve a firm from Oslo. This will strengthen our region,” says one of the owners of Spire Gruppen, Per-Otto Sletten.

Spire Gruppen had last year a turn over of 89 million NOK.

Sweden:

Swedish print chain Arkitektkopia and Stockholm based ABA are planning to merge from the autumn.

The M&A deal is scheduled for October but the firms are already now informing the market about the merger plans.

“There will still be two legal entities run separately but within the same group,” says Gunnar Duintjer, CEO of Arkitektkopia.

Both brands have a strong position in the Swedish market and will continue as before.

When we now become partners in the same group it will result in more cost savings, increased resources for development and it will strengthen both companies’ offer to existing and new clients, the companies state.
