New AI assistant builds workflows and templates for print and promotional products

Printess has launched an AI assistant that builds ready-to-sell printed materials and promotional products from a simple prompt — including the entire customer journey workflow. The tool will be demonstrated when the company guests Print Next on November 18.
The AI assistant can create all types of personalized products from scratch: business cards, banners, promotional items, apparel, greeting cards, invitations, and much more.

Built directly into the Printess Editor, the assistant transforms text-based instructions into products that customers can customize in the webshop: business cards, banners, promotional items, textiles, greeting cards, and invitations. The launch took place on September 14, 2026, according to a press release.
Builds the product, not just the image
According to Printess, most AI tools in the printing industry stop at the artwork itself — the actual design to be printed — while templates, input fields, rules, and purchasing workflows still have to be built manually. Printess takes a different approach.
For instance, the prompt "Build a 12-month wall calendar. The buyer selects the year, and the date grids and public holidays adjust automatically. Include one photo per month, plus a cover" generates 13 spreads, placeholder image frames on every page, a year selector dropdown, and text frames linked to the field via styles and expressions that shift weekdays and highlight holidays.
Everything generated consists of standard Printess elements that can be selected, reviewed, and edited using the tools designers already use. The assistant can also work within an existing template, modifying only specified elements while retaining context from previous instructions in the chat.
Builds the customer interface as well
Beyond the design template, the assistant also builds the customer-facing interface: dialogs, panels, buttons, forms, validation rules, and step-by-step workflows. Printess already features image generation, prompt enhancement, background removal, image editing, and text generation — and according to the company, this assistant serves as the layer that connects these features into a fully buyable product.
As a result, creating a template with 60 frames, a dozen conditional styles, and a scripted panel should no longer require weeks of specialist work.
This primarily impacts print providers without in-house developers, whose range of personalized products has previously been limited by these technical barriers.
The AI assistant is available directly in the Printess Editor now.
