Finnish company Punamusta Media, which has undergone significant transformations in recent years, including numerous acquisitions, is changing its name to Rebel Group.
The company recently sold off its media business and is now a pure graphic communications group with big ambitions.
“Our bold transformation towards an even deeper strategic partnership with customers, expansion into entirely new industries and markets, as well as letting go of the media business, in practice, forced us to fundamentally change the group’s brand. The old name and look did not reflect our current reality,” said the company’s CEO, Arttu Sallinen, in a press release.
One of the cornerstones of the new strategy is what they refer to as the “medialization” of commerce, where retail becomes an increasingly omnichannel and measurable marketing platform. The company describes its solutions as an ecosystem that solves the challenges of managing different media related to retail.
Their offering helps brands and stores increase sales, while allowing consumers to engage with communication that interests them.
“Our new name, Rebl, is more internationally viable. On the other hand, Rebl also refers to the word ‘rebel,’ which well describes our current mindset as a bold reformer and messenger of a positive revolution,” said Chief Marketing Officer Mirka Lammi about the new brand.
Rebl Group consists of approximately 700 employees, or “rebels” as they are now called, and has three business areas: digital solutions, expos and large formats, and printing.
Rebl Group is listed on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
