Norway: Merkur acquires Oslo-based printer

Merkur Gruppen acquires Printing AS and is strengthening its position within large format printing and wrapping. This is reported in a press release sent out by Merkur Gruppen.

Printing AS becomes a part of Merkur Gruppen and will be a sister company of Merkur Grafisk AS and Gjerholm AS. In total, the three companies will have a turn over of approximately 185 MNOK (2022 numbers).

“We are very happy that we were finally able to put pen to paper. We are now three exciting companies in the same group which complement each other in a good way. We are looking forward to create good solutions together with our customers,” says Øystein Christiansen, CEO of Printing.

“This deal makes each and one of us stronger and not least together,” adds Kjetil Sjøeng, CEO of Merkur Grafisk.

Printing’s management continues in the firm

The owners of Printing, Lars and Stein Halvorsen and Øystein Christiansen (CEO), will continue to work actively in the operation of the company. Both families will also continue to be part-owners.

“Yes, both the owners will continue. There are no changes in management nor among the staff as a consequence of this,” says Erik Harg, CEO of Merkur Gruppen.

Harg confirms that the group specifically is interested in Printing AS due to its strong position within large format printing, car wrapping, interior printing etc.

“This complements the competency and capacity in Merkur Grafisk in a very good way,” says Harg.

Printing has 20 employees and had a turn over of 46 MNOK in 2022.

Merkur Grafisk has 45 employees and had a turn over of 126 MNOK in 2022.
